Children Anxiety Disorders: Natural Ways of Treating Your Child’s Panic Attack and Anxiety

Reports about children anxiety disorders are rapidly growing over the last few decades. Research even attribute this increase to changing values in the society and its impact that is so felt on televisions, the internet and the media in general. The population of divorced parents and broken families has also contributed much to this problem.

Panic attacks, Generalized Anxiety Disorders (GAD), Phobias, Social Anxiety Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) are some of the most common types of children anxiety disorders today.  The truth is that any of these disorders can be treated and we have a lot of health, mental and child professionals who will do the treatment. First of all, see that you are giving your child the nutrition he needs. This may not sound very much related to children anxiety disorders but over the years, research found out that a healthy diet and regular exercise can greatly minimize anxiety effects on children. Spending some quality time with your child can also be a great way for you to identify any traces of anxiety disorders and ease your child’s burden. Simply talk to him and talk on his level and ask him about the things that might be bothering him or the things that frightens him. Just by being with him and spend time listening and talking to him send him a message that there is always someone he could turn to.

Second, be honest with your child. For example, when it’s your child’s first time to visit a dentist, don’t lie that it doesn’t hurt. It won’t help. Instead, explain to him the condition and share with him the experience you had the first time you went to your dentist. Tell him that it’s normal to be nervous but that the fear will eventually go away.

Third, always make your child feel you are there to understand. Children anxiety disorders include the fear of acceptance and in meeting someone’s expectations. Assure him of your love in whatever circumstance, whether at school or any talent and skill you want him to develop. Do not show any disappointments when he fails, instead, always cheer him up. Doing so can help him reduce stress instantly.
